Tony & the Kings bring new Miami Latin styles that reflect the culture’s Puerto Rican, Cuban and African roots while remaining grounded in the group’s funk and soul foundations. Boogaloo, Latin Soul, Son, Afro-Funk… These are just some of the styles you will hear on their records and at their live shows.

Tony & the Kings have new music coming out June 16th 2023. The release of “Piropo / Son Del Barrio” will mark the band’s debut single on Tiki Tumbao Records, a record label from Miami, FL. “Piropo” is a playful latin soul, boogaloo song that features Tony calling out his love for his girl. This is sure to be a dance floor favorite at your local funk and soul party. The b side, “Son Del Barrio” is a latin psych-funk keeper with driving horns and a steady beat. This song is a good reminder why you always need to check the b sides. 

Accompanying the release of the “Piropo / Son Del Barrio” 7” record will also be a music video. The music video takes you on a walk through Little Havana with local DJ Angelica Rose. Follow her as she heads to Magic City Soul Club in Downtown Miami to spin 45s with Tony & the Kings. The video was shot on Super 8 film by Christo Nazon and edited by Travis Acker. 

To celebrate the release of “Piropo / Son Del Barrio”, Tiki Tumbao Records and Tony & the Kings present a release party Saturday June 17th at Shirley’s at Gramps in Wynwood, Miami, FL.
